And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
