O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
