And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 that you let the Children of Israel go with us.'" 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
