Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble, recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
