The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
