The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
