Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
