The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 and a Book inscribed 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 and the roof uplifted 5 And the swollen sea, 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 To those who have attained to faith We shall unite their offspring who have also followed them in faith, and We shall not let any of their good deeds go unrewarded; every human being is a pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And they [who are thus blest] will turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
