The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And shade extended 30 near to flowing water 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
