Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a high Garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
