Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known term? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
