The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 And those who recite the message, 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
