Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
