The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
