The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
