The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 As they sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
