The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
