The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
