The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
