Man is prone to say: "Shall I be raised to life after I die?" 66 Does he not remember that We created him when he did not exist? 67 So by your Lord, surely, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Shayatin (devils) (with them), then We shall bring them round Hell on their knees. 68 Then We will surely extract from every sect those of them who were worst against the Most Merciful in insolence. 69 We know best who deserves greater suffering in hell fire. 70 Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished. 71 Then We shall save those who use to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell). 72 And when Our clear verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say to the Muslims, “Which group has a better home, and a better alliance?” 73 We have destroyed so many generations before them, who surpassed them in material power and splendour. 74 Say: 'Whosoever is in error, let the All-merciful prolong his term for him! Till, when they see that they were threatened, whether the chastisement, or the Hour, then they shall surely know who is worse in place, and who is weaker in hosts.' 75 And God endows those who avail themselves of [His] guidance with an ever-deeper consciousness of the right way; and good deeds, the fruit whereof endures forever, are, in thy Sustainer's sight, of far greater merit [than any worldly goods,] and yield far better returns. 76 Note the words of the disbeliever, "I shall certainly be given wealth and children?" 77 Has he known the unseen or has he taken a covenant from the Most Beneficent (Allah)? 78 Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall lengthen the length of his suffering [in the hereafter,] 79 All that he claims will revert to Us, and he will come before Us all alone. 80 And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they should be to them a source of strength; 81 Nay, but they will deny their worship of them, and become opponents unto them. 82
