(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
