Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
