Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
