He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted and purified, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 and olives and palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And his mother and his father 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
