The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
