The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
