The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The piercing star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is no merriment. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
