Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
