A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and follow no friends other than He; little do you remember. 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 And when Our scourge fell upon them their only cry was: 'We are indeed transgressors.' 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
