Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
