If thou couldst but see [how it will be on Judgment Day,] when those who are lost in sin will hang their heads before their Sustainer, [saying:] "O our Sustainer! [Now] we have seen, and we have heard! Return us, then, [to our earthly life] that we may do good deeds: for [now,] behold, we are certain [of the truth]!" 12 And had We willed We would have given every soul its guidance, but My Word is decreed that I will certainly fill hell with these jinns and men, combined. 13 So taste the chastisement on account of your forgetting the encounter of this Day. We, too, have forgotten you. Taste the eternal chastisement as a requital for your misdeeds.” 14 Only those believe in Our revelations who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate and hymn the praise of their Lord, and they are not scornful, ۩ 15 Their sides draw away from (their) beds, they call upon their Lord in fear and in hope, and they spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them. 16 No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do. 17 So will the believer ever be equal to the one who is lawless? They are not equal! 18 Those who accepted faith and did good deeds – for them are the Gardens of (everlasting) stay; a welcome in return for what they did. 19 But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny." 20 We shall certainly make them suffer worldly torment before suffering the great torment so that perhaps they may return to Us. 21 And who doth greater wrong than he who is reminded of the revelations of his Lord, then turneth from them. Lo! We shall requite the guilty. 22
