There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth. We revive it and We produce grain from it of which they eat. 33 We have laid out gardens of dates and grapes upon it, and made springs of water flow, 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We will, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout (or helper) for them (to hear their cry for help) nor will they be saved. 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 They await not but one shout, which shall lay hold of them while they are yet wrangling. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
