Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
