Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
