Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the (particular) dawn. 1 And by oath of ten nights. 2 And the Even and the Odd, 3 And [by] the night when it passes, 4 Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? 5 Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad - 6 [the people of] Iram the many-pillared, 7 The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? 8 And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley; 9 and with Pharaoh of the stakes? 10 who all were insolent in the land 11 So they made great mischief therein? 12 Therefore your Lord struck them hard with the means of punishment. 13 Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them). 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him by exalting him and bestowing His bounties upon him, he says: “My Lord has exalted me.” 15 But when he tries him and stints for him his provision, then he says, 'My Lord has despised me.' 16 No. In fact you are not generous to the orphans, 17 And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor. 18 And you readily devour the inheritance with greed. 19 And you love wealth with exceeding love. 20 When the earth is crushed into small pieces 21 and [the majesty of] thy Sustainer stands revealed, as well as [the true nature of] the angels; rank upon rank? 22 And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? 23 He will say, “Alas if only I had sent some good deeds ahead, during my lifetime!” 24 So on that day, no one punishes like He does! 25 And none will bind as He will bind. 26 But ah! thou soul at peace! 27 Return to your Lord well-pleased (with your blissful destination), well-pleasing (to your Lord). 28 Enter thou among My servants! 29 Enter then My garden." 30
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
