The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
