Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
