Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In the high empyrean, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
