So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
