Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
