[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
