Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
