Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 What though they would say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
