The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ha Mim 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the Wise. 2 We have not created the heavens and the earth, and what between them is, save with the truth and a stated term; but the unbelievers are turning away from that they were warned of. 3 Say: 'Have you considered that you call upon apart from God? Show me what they have created of the earth; or have they a partnership in the heavens? Bring me a Book before this, or some remnant of a knowledge, if you speak truly.' 4 Who is further astray than he who calls upon, other than Allah, those who will never answer him till the Day of Resurrection, who are indeed, heedless of their supplication? 5 And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship. 6 When Our clear revelations are read out to them, the infidels say of the truth, when it has come to them: "This is pure magic." 7 Say they: he hath fabricated it. Say thou: if I have fabricated it, then ye cannot avail me against Allah in aught. He is the Knower of that which ye utter thereof; He sufficeth as a witness between me and you; and He is Forgiving, Merciful. 8 Say: "I am not the first of [God's] apostles; and [like all of them,] I do not know what will be done with me or with you: for I am nothing but a plain warner." 9 Say: 'Have you considered? If it be from God, and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel hears witness to its like, and believes, and you wax proud, God guides not the people of the evildoers. 10
