We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 And every soul came, along with a herder and a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me. 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man - everyone] 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants." 29
