The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 that hide, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
