The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
