۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
