Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
