The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
